9/21/2020- Private breastfeeding classes, pumping consults, and mini consults continue to be offered in a telemedicine format only. All other services are offered both in home visit and telemedicine format.
Screening:
For in-person visits, the Lactation Consultant will call the client to screen for symptoms and exposure to covid-19 on the day of the consult. The Lactation Consultant will ask for the temperatures of the mother and support person on the day of the consult. Based on the screening results, the visit may proceed as schedule or be moved to a telemedicine format, re-scheduled, or cancelled. If the client can not be reached for screening, the visit will be cancelled.
Home Visits:
The Lactation Consultant will wear a face covering and a face shield for the duration of the appointment. She will also wash her hands thoroughly at the start of the visit and use hand sanitizer frequently. Any time she touches mother or baby, she will use gloves. In addition, all equipment will be sanitized at the start of the visit and disinfected after each visit.
The client will ensure that the only people in the room during the visit are the infant, the mother, and up to one additional support person. Please make arrangements for other children, adults, and pets to remain in a different room. If possible, please open windows in the room where the visit will take place. The mother and support person will wear a face covering over the nose and mouth for the duration of the visit. Infants should not wear face coverings.
Telemedicine:
All virtual services are offered through Doxyme. This is a HIPAA compliant, secure telemedicine service so you can rest assured that your privacy is protected. No other people will be present in the room on my end. You may have any support people that you wish in the room with you. No part of the telemedicine visit will be recorded. Credit card payment will be collected at the start of the visit.
December 14, 2020 - Several countries have recently issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer/BioNtech mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
